My traveling companion was sick. She pulled over to the side of the road and told me to get out. Walk in that direction, she said. There was a skinny trail leading off into a pretty pathetic stretch of trees. No sign, no nothing. You’ll get to a bridge, she said. I’ll pick you up on the other side. There’s a big sign on either end of the bridge: NO SWINGING. But even as you walk across it, it sways and bounces with the wind.
